Exactly Where You Want To Be – Air Broadbeach

We go to Australia pretty much every year, and have stayed at Air five times for a total of about a month and a half. Very comfortable flats in an unbelievable location and by US standards, really quite reasonable for what you get. These days, we stay with friends — the price is right (keeping the frig stocked for Aussies [most have one for the food and another for the liquor] can be daunting, though) — but I would recommend Air heartily. Back when the AUD was about $0.50, this was a steal of Goldman Sachs proportion.

Kurrawa Surf Club is right across the street, on the beach, and consistently the best place for a feed on the Coast. If you are there for even a week, it pays to become a member. There””s a Woolie””s and liquor store downstairs (very small by US standards, but it suffices); gambling, shopping, and spas are within walking or monorail distance. Check out a Blaze game if you can (okay, one of my mates owns the team), and party at MooMoo””s afterward.

Air has a first-rate workout facility overlooking the Pacific (for us, a workout is a morning ritual, not to be missed), and huge balconies where you can tan au naturel before ten. The rooms are well-appointed (one-bedroom flats all face the ocean full-on). Sure, you have to keep the place reasonably clean, and there are certain downsides to being in any high-rise (they charge you for false fire alarms, so be careful when you cook), but it is the nicest facility we””ve seen on the GC (and we””ve stayed in a few).

For your next Gold Coast holiday, check out great Broadbeach accommodation at Air on Broadbeach.
